Exactly what I was looking for

The Blackout practice pad is great. I've often thought that most practice pads have too much rebound. I was concerned that this one would not have enough rebound. While this one is much less responsive than a tightly tuned snare, it's great if you are used to a looser snare or if you are just wanting to get a good workout for your wrists and fingers. You have to work for the rebounds more with this pad, but there is some. It's not like playing on a pillow. I play mesh head electronic drums. I find that the response is actually pretty close to a mesh head that is not super tight.

I would say this is the premier practice pad out there. Very high quality & durable material.

Best practice pad ever!

I love how this thing makes you work on your chops by absorbing every hit. The rim is super useful and fun to play with too. Quality and design are top notch!

Amazing product that delivers on everything advertised!

At first I had some hesitation about this practice pad as I was worried it would be too little rebound for a practice surface. However, I decided to buy it based on reviews and videos I had found. I'm incredibly pleased with everything about this practice pad. The amount of rebound is not too much or too little in fact it feels like playing on a low to medium low tuned drum. I prefer this because for me going from a very bouncy practice pad back to a real kit sometimes messed up my touch. As for volume this thing has been a lifesaver for late night practice. No one in my house can hear me playing this pad if I'm in my room and they've turned the corner out the door even when I have the door open. Closing the door and practicing has allowed me to pretty much practice silently at any hour. Of course keep in mind that I'm talking about practicing at a reasonable dynamic level. If I really hit it as hard as I can it will be audible. Overall I love this product and for the last few days it's taken over as my main practice pad.
