Jason Edwards, President and founder of ProLogix® Percussion, is an active touring/recording artist, educator, columnist, inventor and patent holder working throughout the United States.
In 1996, Jason began to research and design the ultimate practice pads for drummers; an endeavor that led to the birth of ProLogix® Percussion in 2001. He has since developed and patented a full line of innovative practice pads for every kind of drummer including signature practice pads and accessories distributed worldwide. ProLogix® Percussion products have been featured in DRUM, Modern Drummer, Drumhead and Drumscene receiving outstanding reviews. The All-N-1 Russ Miller Signature practice pad received the best in show for accessories and add-on’s for NAMM 2013. Jason’s world known product designs feature hard rubber rims on all pads, baltic birch construction, interchangeable surfaces, instructional “Brush Map” templates and “Zonix” tenor pads with rims.
Jason is currently touring and recording with Grammy nominated artist David Mayfield of The David Mayfield Parade where he performs at large concert venues and music festivals throughout the year. He has also worked with Grammy recording artist Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys in a project called The Barnburners from 2000-2002. Jason has also toured with singer/songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield on her Blasphemy so Heartfelt 2008 tour.
Jason is a columnist for Modern Drummer magazine with his first article titled, “Basic Brush Maps, Tools to Improve Your Brush Playing” which was published in the February 2008 Jazz Drummers Workshop column.
As an educator, Jason has been teaching private lessons to many drummers throughout northeast Ohio for 25 years. He is a member of The Percussive Arts Society, Hudson Music’s Teacher Integration Project, Vic Firth’s PDT Educational Team and NAMM. Jason's former teachers include Gary Chaffee, Ed Soph, Steve Houghton and the late Jim Chapin.
Jason resides in North Canton, OH operating ProLogix® Percussion and tours with The David Mayfield Parade. He continues to share his vision and inspiration to drummers of all ages through performance, lessons and ProLogix® Percussion.
Jason performs with Pearl drums, Meinl cymbals, Remo drum heads, Vic Firth sticks and ProLogix® Percussion practice pads.
